In the world of superheroes, the only way Spider-Man could be more "New York" is if he fought crime wearing a Mets cap and took the subway from battle to battle.
Get ready, though, true believer: Peter Parker is becoming an international man of action.
The kid from Forest Hill, Queens, is going from wall-crawler to globe-trotter in the upcoming story line "Ends of the Earth," beginning in Amazing Spider-Man issue 682 (available in comic shops and digitally Wednesday).
"Recently we had Spider-Man go up on a space station. For him, being in Rome is just as awkward," writer Dan Slott says. "Planet Earth is at stake this time out, and I don't think we've ever seen Spider-Man have to fight to save all of everything."
