Peter Tomasi is putting the Robins in Batman and Robin.
The writer looked at all of DC Comics' Batman-centered books and found a lack of focus on the Dark Knight's sidekick. So Tomasi has taken 10-year-old force of nature Damian Wayne, Batman's son and current Robin, and made him the star of a current story line where he throws down with the other guys who have worn his same mantle.
"There seemed to be just a missing heartbeat in a way, or a character-centered aspect of it that I thought was missing between Bruce (Wayne) and Damian. I thought that was the main hook for the book," says Tomasi, who teams with artists Patrick Gleason and Michael Gray on the book.
"Of course, being titled Batman and Robin sure didn't hurt, but it was definitely a really good focus and a laser line right to that relationship."
